Are There Any Google AdSense Alternatives?
Whatever the reason for trying Google AdSense alternatives, this article will provide you with a lowdown of some of the most popular alternatives. Believe it or not, there are many out there, so we will just look at some of the better Google AdSense Alternatives.
Clicksor Instead of Google Adsense
The first of the Google AdSense alternatives we will look at is Clicksor. This is a very popular advertising network and operates similarly to AdSense. IT is free to sign up and allows you to earn money through a variety of ad types including contextual ads and text ads. You can earn as much as 60% of the revenue share, depending on the performance of the ads on your website and how many clicks they receive. Payment is made every 2 weeks either by PayPal or a check, when you reach the payment threshold of $50. One downside is that Clicksor ads are often seen as being irritating to users, so that is worth bearing in mind.
Is adBrite A Bright Move?
Perhaps one of the oldest advertisement networks is adBrite. adBrite is very popular and unlike the other Google AdSense alternatives, adBrite specialise in banner ads, which are sold to their clients who may want to advertise on your site or blog. It is also free and very easy to use.
(Update Feb 1, 2013: adbrite has ceased operation)
Content Can Mean Profit with Kontera
You will already be aware of Kontera, even if you do not know that name. They use in-line contextual ads that underline keywords in a site or blog. When a visitor to the site highlights those words, it brings up a pop-up advertisement related to the keyword. This can be very annoying and is probably better suited to blogs that are rich in content.
Check Out Chitika
An interesting blog advertising group, that you may have seen on sites like Squidoo.com for instance, is Chitika. They have a network of literally thousands of blogs and websites with merchants and brand advertisers. If you are writing a product based blog, then Chitika may be right for you, allowing you to earn as much as 10% in referrals. Chitika pay-out is either by PayPal (minimum $10) and checks (minimum $50).
Infolinks In-Text Advertising
One of the most popular text link advertising is Infolinks. Basically, the advertisement is advertized using the text in our blog. Advertiser chooses a keyword for his advertising campaign and when that particular keyword matches the content on your blog, the advertisement will be displayed on the keyword. When visitors click on the keyword, you will earn for every click made. Minimum payout is $50.
Google AdSense Alternatives – Try One!
It is clear that there is competition out there. Research the Google AdSense alternatives further and find the advertising network or company that offers the best program and ad styles for your websites or blogs. You may find that you can earn as much, if not more, by using one of the Google AdSense alternatives.
Any Google Adsense alternatives that you know of? Let us know in the comments.
Those are great alternatives but you missed Pocket Cents. It gives you a higher click through rate and therefore better earnings from CPC ad. It’s one of the great sites in increasing your site’s revenue.
I’m sure there are many more Adsense alternatives out there Veronica. Never heard of Pocket Cents though, will check it out soon. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Really spot on article, I will have to investigate for my new site. I actually own a landscape company also that I currently run Google Adsense and it’s thus far pretty slow. Thanks
Hope you’ll do well with Adsense in 2012 Bryan, thanks for the comment.
Nice list buddy ! Thanks for the share ! In my opinion, Chitika eMiniMalls is the best alternative to Google Adsense which gives the highest CPC rates after Adsense !
Yes, that’s one of the best Adsense alternatives. Have you been using it Priyangshu? If so, I hope you are doing well with it. Thanks for visiting.
Nice list! I am using now chitika and AdHitz. So far, I’ve notice that AdHitz is doing better than chitika. Still, I’m hoping both would do well this year. Those on your list are worth checking!
I’ve never tried AdHitz, but there are sure a lot of Adsense alternatives out there for us to check out. Thanks for commenting Bhing 🙂
I tried all above except Content, but non of them success. Chitika used to be work perfectly good for me, but the earning has been drop since then.
These are some of the adsense alternatives that I’ve used before. Not everyone has an adsense account so these adsense alternatives might be useful to them. Oh… on a side note, it’s not Content but Kontera 🙂
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Tan.
Just notice another one in your site – adhitz.
Wow! You’re quite an observant Tan 🙂 Yeah I got to know AdHitz from a fellow blogger. I have no clue of how it’ll turn out as I’ve just put those ads up. I’ll just have to wait and see.
Thanks for the info on this. I always knew there had to be adsense alternatives out there but I just never took the time to investigate it because I am always too busy writing content. I’m definitely going to try a few of these. The text link sites may work on one of my other sites. Awsome!
Don’t put all eggs into one basket. Got to try some of the adsense alternatives out there, we’ll never know when Google will ban one’s adsense account which is so commonly heard of recently. Good luck on the alternatives John.
Those are pretty great alternatives. If you want to monetize your site then it might be worth looking into affiliate marketing. For instance CJ (commision Junction) has a lot of different companies and products to advertise. Find one that your audience would be interested in and advertise it.
I tried Adhitz,Chitika,Adbrite,888Media and adsense too.but banned 😛 , all are worst except one and only one Advertising giant Adsense. So,better to make content/site in way that adsense can approve it again after banned.Am going to try Clicksor and kontera soon, infolinks is the wrost as it annoys the visitors.Never and ever should use Infolinks, its my opinion #No offense 🙂
While I don’t use Infolinks, they’re actually not a bad alternative as far as I’m concern. Maybe the reason your visitors feel annoyed is because you put too many Infolinks links on your content. If your posts are short, try to reduce the links to maybe 4 or 6, that should make your readers less annoyed 😛 I see your site is putting up Chtika ‘s ads, any success so far with it?
Though AdBrite and Kontera are other good ways, I still prefer AdSense over them. I think AdSense from Google Inc. is the best for the publishers especially for the beginners.
These ad networks are great but I don’t think that all these comparable to Adsense. Google Adsense is different than others. Google Adsense is great among all paid online networks. There are several other online networks can be used.
The purpose of this article is to introduce some Adsense alternatives, so that people who had failed in getting an Adsense account or those who are unfortunate to have their Adsense account terminated could try some of these alternatives. Thanks for commenting, Santosh!
I have tried Chitika, but with no success. I have tried some other alternatives too but none of them work for me. Adsense payed me some good monthly income before my blog was banned. They didn’t ban my account but just banned by blog. Is it possible to get it unbanned?
Hard to say. I heard both side of a story. Some managed to get it reinstated and some don’t. You just have to try your luck. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Mahaveer.
I used ad sense until the they canceled my account because I purchased traffic for my site, but im happy with adbrite even that they pay low but its better than nothing, ad sense was goo bcz they display good ads that make visitors to click on the ads
I heard that adbrite had closed their service last month of february,
Didn’t you notice we already updated the article, Michael?
Yeah, thanks for reminding.
A few more you may add to the list, such as innity, admedia.com and media.net
Thanks for your insightful post. I have been looking for alternatives to adsense. because i am having difficulty getting my adsense approved by google. thanks once again for sharing
These are all really good ad networks but I think that affiliate marketing shouldn’t be overlooked as a good way to earn online. It might be difficult for the beginner at first but once you get going behind a good product you can make a lot of money. I’m a big fan of ShareASale and also for reaching out to online shops and suggesting partnerships.
I agree. We should diversify and not solely depend on only one method. Personally, I don’t do well on affiliate marketing, but they still bring in a little revenue which is better than nothing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Erin!
I like infolinks among them. Media.net is the best alternative for adsense.
Thanks for providing this wonderful information about alternatives of Adsense!
Infolinks and Clicksor are the good choices, if you don’t have enable Adsense.
Nice way to elaborate the points.
Thanks again for precious share. 🙂
I haven’t yet heard the T3Ads but based on your information, it’s more advisable and highly recommended especially for noobs like me. I’ve heard as well that not all applying for google adsense will get approve so I think this is the best altenative if you were looking for a decent money. Well I guess I need to check this site soon!. thanks for sharing this great article.
Indeed a Great post.
But according to me, none of the adsense alternative can give the revenue as much as Adsense can give. I haven’t tried all the above alternatives but I tried infolinks and I had worst experience with it. After having huge amount of traffic, I was able to make only 100-200$.
Because my blog was banned by Adsense. If this wasn’t happened then that traffic can surely make around $2k+.
That’s why infolinks is far away from Adsense in terms of generating revenue.
BTW Thanks for sharing it with us.
I will be honest – I ditched ClickBank and AdSense altogether from my blog….reason being there are too many merchants who’s products and services either get banned or leave ClickBank and as for AdSense, it gives visitors to your website another route to click and leave your site. If you have affiliate programs and products already on your site, you are guaranteed to make more money with them than through AdSense, unless your are driving some serious traffic. As for InfoLinks, it just looks spammy and the keywords and ads that appear are not targeted most the time. I personally say just do away with ads and ad networks and focus on affiliate programs to monetize your blog that have one or few solid products to offer, because like I mentioned, you will make more money that way.
