Personal Fitness Games
When you want to workout on your own, there are plenty of Kinect fitness games to choose from. Games such as “Zumba Fitness” and “Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012” allow you to workout at your own pace. Certain personal fitness games such as “The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout” allow you to create your own fitness routine, as well as keep track of the amount of calories you consume a day. Many of the personal fitness games offered also allow you to choose from different difficulty and skill levels. For example, if you are just beginning the game, you may want to start at a beginner’s level to learn the techniques associated with the game. Once you grow more comfortable with the game and build your workout endurance, you can easily change to a higher level workout.

How about that for a workout? Could this be your solution to getting fit? Tell us in the comments.
That is really great post..Thanks for that ..Fitness is very important for everybody
Yeah Amit, but sadly not everyone has the time to get fit nowadays.
I haven’t tried anything with Kinect yet. I keep hearing they want to integrate it and use the technology with all kinds of other things. Should be interesting if that happens. I do remember trying the Nintendo Wii control when it first came out, and it was a bigger workout than I thought it would be. Fun, yet healthy. Can’t beat that.
I play these games if I don’t feel like going to the gym and it’s fun and challenging. Kinect is a great technology and it’s rumored that it’ll be integrated with the next-gen TVs and on Windows Computers. It sure is interesting if that happens. Thanks for dropping by Ray 🙂
Indeed if we are too late to go to the gym for instance but still we want to make our exercises – it is the perfect solution. I haven’t tried them yet but I will for sure and give some review 🙂
Thanks Anna, I would very much like to know what you think about the games.
Will start earning to get this xbox kinect coz im too lazy to go out and run 🙂
This thing is fun and effective Rosel, worth every penny of it.
Personal fitness games are ideal for those who don’t have time to work out at the gym. Time-saving and less expensive, too!
Don’t forget it’s fun too Lizzie. Thanks for commenting.
The Kinect is a whole new gaming experience for the X-Box games. Most of them are certainly helpful in keeping your body fit. Lets hope some more interesting aerobic games for Kinect in the market soon.
There are Kinect for Windows too Sam, check out our article here: The Scoop on Windows Kinect. Hope you like it and thanks for the comment.
I have never used Kinect but I have had Wii which I bought for fitness purposes because always do not have time for a gym. I think Kinect and Wii a great option to get fit body for people who do not have time to go to the gym.
Wii is a good option too Carol. Thanks for the comment.
I don’t own an xbox360 or else I would definitely get a kinect, it sounds and looks like a lot of fun.
I have a ps3 with the ps move. Can get some good exercise out of it as well. I used to have a wii with wii fit. But when I moved to another country I gave it to my parents, they wanted to use it to get into shape, but I actually doubt they are using it. But if they feel like it at least it’s there any time. Easier than going to the gym.
These fitness games are fun. I’m sure they’ll appreciate and use it Danny 🙂
These games are only going to get better. YourShape 2012 is a great game and you can really get fit and have fun at the same time. Currently the Kinect Sensor resolution is its major drawback. Because of this you have to position the sensor differently for certain exercises/games. I can’t even imagine the great things they will be doing for fitness games on the next-gen consoles. Still a great game to get and I enjoy it.
I lost almost 10 pounds playing these fitness games, combining with a healthy diet of course. Well I’m sure the Kinect will only get better and better and used not only for games but in other field as well. Thanks for the comment Mark.
Wow! I will definitely try the game Zumba fitness as you recommend it. Congratulations that you lost 10 pounds. Can I ask how many days did you work out to lost that 10 lbs?
Lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks, combining with a healthy diet of course, I wouldn’t give all the credit to exercise. Thanks for the comment William.
I am so pleased to see this post as fitness is a must for all.
You like to workout Pavan? 😛 Thanks for the comment.
I played on the Kinect at my mates house. Kinect Sports is very similar to Wii Sports I found. Except for the fact you don’t need to hold a controller. Both had me sweating!
I love this new way of working out. I have a Wii but I would really love to have the Kinect as it seems to have more games for fitness. I get more motivation by it seeming more like fun than any other exercise. Also good for the kids to stay active as well. Gotta get me one of these!
I play this at least once a week. It’s really fun!
Hi,
Awesome blog! Thanks for sharing! I just learned another new way to stay fit! 🙂
Well, I always go to Yoga Exercises and join my kids on playing Just Dance 4! We always have fun and I also lose weight! A really great way to stay fit not just to your body but to your children also.
Regards,
Siena S.
That’s whats great with technology now a days.
It offers people creative methods to get back in shape.
I like the idea of having games that are both fun and physically challenging. It helps keep the youth and, busy bodies, healthy.
But in my opinion, nothing beats the age old practice of “playing outside”. Either way, if you can incorporate exercise (in whatever form) you’ll be better off then most people.
Just keep it up and have fun with it!
I used to play these fitness games but I found them less challenging after a while. I got bored and yeah you’re right, nothing beats working out outside. Thanks for stopping by, Sereyvorn!
I think Kinect is probably gonna be the future of console gaming world. I know there is Nintendo Wii with its movement-supported remote, but Kinect is different given that it is a sensor that enables users to interact with the KInect-armed device and be active in the fun way. With more and more Kinect-supported games coming to the current and next-gen Xbox One this December/November, i think many gamers can definitely get many uses from this awesome device. I also heard Ubisoft will release a Kinect-supported game called Fighter Within for Xbox One. I think it’s gonna be worth checking out.
We’ve really come a long way in fitness games. Does anyone remember playing the Olympics game on Nintendo with the pad you put on the floor? It wasn’t long before we figured out it was easier to just get on your knees and pound on the pad with our hands though…
