Google updated PR on February 06, 2012 and ComputerHowToGuide.com which was previously PR1 is now PR2.
Nothing to be proud of here as PR2 is very common. This domain is very new and there are much work needed to be done here.
Many of the pages in this blog have got either PR1 or PR2 in this latest Google PR update. There’s one particular page which is PR3 and that’s Smartphone Users Fake Out Their Own Senses. I have no clue of why this page is PR3, any idea?

I’ve been page rank 4 for the longest time and don’t seem to budge.
To climb higher is hard and to maintain there is even harder. I think you’re doing good Brad 🙂
My site just got promoted to PR3 and it happened after my last round of 4 article postings. Once i posted up those 4 new reviews the PR went up. Not sure if it means anything but if it helps others to raise their PR let me know with a reply. I’m still learning this SEO game and it fascinates me.
Good to know your site got a 3 John. I heard many new sites also got a decent PR increased, some even with less than 5 posts on the site. On the contrary, some older sites with great content got a drop. I guess only Google could answer the Whys and Hows.
I just want to congratulate the people who are generating this website because of the success and achievement that you have attained here. This is because of the hard work that you guys have spent in keeping your website reliable and effective to people like us. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Liane for the kind words. Keep visiting.
Good Job Peter… If you can figure out the ranking process, let me know. You have a great site here and I am glad to have you on my blogroll.
Rick
I hope my site could reach PR5 one day just like yours. It’s tough but I think it’s possible. I’m not going to be obsessed by this PR thing though as I think that’s not what blogging is all about. But it does feel good to get an improvement on Google page rank. Thanks for dropping by Rick 🙂
Awesome!
I was moved from PR2 to PR3. Low PR still able to move but I think from PR4 onwards, everything is going to be tough. Based on your site’s performance, I am sure your PR will move very fast probably the next PR update is going to be around 3 or 4 without breaking a sweat 😉
Thanks for the kind words Alan. I wish the same to your site as well 🙂
Good Job Peter …this is not something common you have said ..the information is really fresh and very useful to us …thanks 🙂
You’re welcome Linda.
Congratulation Peter. Last update, I got a website without any back links and not even have content, just a empty page also got PR2. So is time for me to check all my websites PR again to see any gain or loss. By the way, do you install any plugin to check your PR for all pages of your blog?
Yeah Tan, that’s why I said PR2 is no big deal, it’s very common and nothing to be proud of. This blog needs to work harder. I don’t know of any plugins that would do that, I’ve gone through my pages one by one for their respective PRs.
Look like the site has been update to PR3, which I quickly add a few posts after last update to PR2. A few years ago, I once push my 2 directories to PR5 and PR4, but then stop maintain them due to busy with my offline stuff. They are now PR3 and PR2.
Yeah Tan, as I’ve replied to one comment earlier, it’s hard to climb higher and it’s even harder maintaining it.
I got 1 domain which is also collecting dust, but got PR3 in this update. I think I should act fast to develop it in coming months.
Congratulations for getting Page rank 2. great achievement. Enjoy.
I wouldn’t say it’s a great achievement yet Puneet, but it’s always good to see improvement. Hope yours are doing good as well.
Nice work Peter! Hopefully you are able to continue to build on your momentum and success.
There’s a lot of work to be done in this blog before it could reach higher PR just like yours 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement Dominic.
congratulations. Techtricksworld slipped PR 1(shocked ) but 2012onwards acheieved pr 2 in just 1 month.
I’m shocked as well Atish. But no worries, I’m sure TTW will bounce back in the next PR update. Kudos to 2012Onwards for achieving PR2 🙂
Congratulations Peter Lee for page rank 2, yes i think it was really a minor update, my pagerank didnot change, it was one and it is one don’t know why. I think i post quality content but still having no page rank increment. can you give me some tips how to increase page rank. Thanks.
I’m no SEO expert, but I think building more backlinks by blog commenting and guest posting should help. Anyway, at least you get to maintain your PR and it didn’t drop. Good luck on the next update Ayesha.
Congratulations, Peter! Your blog really looks promising. It won’t be too long for you to achieve PR3. I enjoy reading fresh and informative write ups from your blog.
Thanks for the compliment Bhing. Keep visiting 🙂
Awesome that your site moved up in Pagerank. Mine have been up and down over the years I can’t even remember what all I had for Pagerank. I still prefer traffic, but I’ll take Pagerank if they are going to hand it out.
I would prefer traffic as well. I see many sites with high PR but no traffic, what’s the point right? But it’s always nice to see a PR increased. Nice to hear from you Ray 🙂
Hi Peter, Technology Bloggers stayed at a 3, and pretty much all the rest of my sites stayed the same.
It is very interesting that your article ‘Smartphone Users Fake Out Their Own Senses’ has a PageRank of 3, how many incoming links does Google think it has in Webmasters Tools?
Onwards and upwards – not that PageRank is really anything to be bothered about, showing up in the SERPs however, that is!
Yeah I’m curious of why that page is PR3, it has less than 50 incoming links. I have pages with more than 1000 incoming links but still PR2. I couldn’t agree with you more that SERP is the thing that we should be focusing on, we shouldn’t be too obsessed with PR. But an increased is always nice. Thanks for the comment Christopher.
my blog on blogspot was pr 1. after google update still pr1 🙁 sad 🙁
Your rank was increased. Congrats
Thanks Trung. No need to be sad, just keep building more links by blog commenting and guest posting, it’ll go up.
That’s glad to hear and congrats for the hard work. I got PR3 and this is the time to keep up the ranking and go forward.
Congrats for getting PR3 on your blog Pavan, you must have been working hard for it.
That’s great Peter ! Congrats !
Hey Peter, look like Google running another update now.
Yea Tan. Hope your sites are doing well.
Hey Peter Congratulation for PR-2. Not for home page lol… its for this article itself 🙂
Best of luck for next pr.
Hope you will able to achieve PR-5 This time.
LOL…, thanks Amit!
The higher your page rank gets, the harder it is to move it up to the next level. That’s why many sites hover around the PR 3-4 without moving on from this. Good quality links in from sites with higher page ranks and relevant content should help you move in the right direction.
