Yes, I’ve seen some already. of course it is not so helpful like the real encyclopedia should be but at least I’d prefer my kid to sit and serf it instead of angry birds!
Hahaha 🙂
These are all wonderful apps. I grew up reading Encyclopedia Brittanica though that was in heavy hard bound during my time.
I still have those hard copy encyclopedia with me. My dad bought it for me when I was a kid. There are now collecting dust as I don’t use them anymore!
I recently got the Encyclopedia Britannica for my niece in my phone, and must say it’s brilliant. I read through it a lot many times and found it excellently carved one. Thanks for providing with the list, will go through more apps.
Glad you like it, Aayna! And hope your niece would find it useful and enjoy reading it too!
I wish we had these great encyclopedia apps back in our childhood; things would have been much easier and quicker to learn, wouldn’t they 😉 Great share.
I hear you 🙂
The software programs like encyclopedia, helps a lot in the growth of a kid. it contains interactivity and knowledge. when I was a kid I used to go through an encyclopedia from Microsoft named “Encarta”.
therefore I can understand the importance of these things.
you’ve given a good list of encyclopedia peter. thanks 🙂
Growing up, I had sets and sets of encyclopedia. Name it and, most probably, I got it. At the old house we had, we dedicated a floor to ceiling, 3 meter-wide back to back shelves for these huge books. We have a smaller (1.5 meter tall, 2 meter wide) shelf for other reading materials my grandparents collected over the time. For that, I can say that we often celebrate iPads, tablets and smart boards for the educational lift they offer students and parents. BUT I think, personally, that we should also commend this tool of technology for freeing up huge areas in our homes. Cheers!
